Dear Colleagues

I thought I should write to you to warn members that there is a ‘company’ calling dental practices promising them amazing discounts of marketing and internet listings. They will say they are part of Google (but of course, they are not). Unfortunately they use many different names and I gather they have even forgotten their company name when questioned. Anybody receiving a call from this number (0161 425 8186) should go online and report it. If you Google the number the main website to complain about the calls will appear.

I spoke to the Metropolitan police about it today as it was brought to my attention. As it’s a Manchester number, the police there have been informed and are monitoring the situation. We need to make notes on these websites as this is the only way the police can monitor the complaints. There is no particular department for the police to deal with these sorts of calls unless somebody loses money. I wanted everyone aware of the situation.
